Frequently Asked Questions

I truly want you to make an informed decision based on the Holy Spirit's leading in your life, and to that end I have put together the most frequently asked questions so you can peruse my offerings before making any kind of committment!

What is Christian ADHD coaching, and how is Lionheart different?

Lionheart ADHD Coaching begins with Christ, not a diagnosis.

God has designed His people for community, mutual exhortation, and shared sanctification. Scripture makes clear that growth is not meant to be pursued alone (Hebrews 10:24–25; Ecclesiastes 4:9–12).

Coaching at Lionheart is grounded in this truth: we walk together as brothers and sisters in Christ, partnering in the ordinary, faithful work of becoming more like Him.

ADHD coaching here is not about fixing yourself or optimizing productivity. It is about wise stewardship, obedience in daily responsibilities, and learning to live faithfully with the brain God has given you.

Evidence-based ADHD strategies are used as helpful tools, not as the foundation. Science often confirms what Scripture has long revealed about human limitation, discipline, and growth. ADHD is treated as an explanation, not an excuse, and clients are respected as responsible moral agents under grace.

“Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.” — Proverbs 27:17

➡️ If you are seeking Christ-centered support rooted in accountability and community, Lionheart may be a good place to begin.

2

Who is Lionheart ADHD Coaching for?

Lionheart serves Christian adults with ADHD who desire to live faithfully in the midst of real limitations.

This includes:

  • Women and mothers carrying heavy mental and emotional loads

  • College students and young adults navigating structure for the first time

  • High-functioning adults experiencing burnout or chronic overwhelm

  • Believers weary of shame-based motivation

Many clients know what is right and good, yet struggle to carry it out consistently. Scripture names this tension honestly (Romans 7:15–25), without condemnation.

“For it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.” — Philippians 2:13

➡️ A discovery call helps discern whether coaching is the right support for your current season.

3

What kinds of challenges do you help with?

Coaching often addresses challenges such as:

  • Task initiation and follow-through

  • Time blindness and chronic lateness

  • Disorganization and mental overload

  • Emotional dysregulation and burnout

  • Phone overuse and distraction

  • Difficulty sustaining prayer, Scripture, or routine

  • Shame that undermines obedience

These struggles are not moral failures, but they do require intentional discipleship and practical wisdom.

“Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.” — Hebrews 12:1

➡️ Coaching helps translate desire into faithful action.

4

Is this therapy or counseling?

No. Lionheart ADHD Coaching is not therapy and does not diagnose or treat mental health conditions.

Coaching focuses on skill development, structure, accountability, and application of truth to daily life. Many clients work with a therapist or physician alongside coaching.

Scripture affirms the value of wise counsel (Proverbs 11:14), while recognizing that different forms of support serve different purposes.

“Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed.” — Proverbs 20:18

➡️ If you are unsure what kind of support you need, this can be discerned together.

5

Do I need an ADHD diagnosis to work with you?

No. A formal diagnosis is not required.

Some clients are self-identified, some were diagnosed years ago without support, and others are still discerning. What matters is whether executive functioning challenges are interfering with faithful living.

Scripture consistently focuses on fruit and practice, not labels.

“Be doers of the word, and not hearers only.” — James 1:22

➡️ We work with patterns, not categories.

6

What does coaching actually look like?

Coaching at Lionheart is structured, relational, and fun!

Depending on the offering, this may include:

  • One-on-one coaching sessions

  • Brief accountability check-ins

  • Group coaching or classes

  • Written recaps with Scripture and clear next steps

Structure is used to reduce burden, not increase pressure.

“Let all things be done decently and in order.” — 1 Corinthians 14:40

➡️ Together, we build rhythms that serve faithfulness rather than exhaust it.

7

I’ve tried planners, systems, and courses before. How is this different?

Most systems fail because they rely on:

  • Consistent motivation

  • High working memory

  • Shame as a driver of change

Scripture shows that transformation occurs through grace-empowered practice, not self-reliance (2 Corinthians 12:9).

Lionheart coaching:

  • Works with the ADHD brain, not against it

  • Confronts shame directly

  • Emphasizes obedience over perfection

  • Adapts to your actual season of life

“My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.” — 2 Corinthians 12:9

➡️ This is formation, not optimization.

8

What if I’m already overwhelmed and afraid of adding one more thing?

That fear is understandable.

Coaching is not about doing more. It is about clarifying what matters, removing unnecessary friction, and learning to carry appropriate loads (we each must carry our own load, and we each must have others to help carry burdens).

Jesus Himself invites the weary to structured rest, not abandonment of responsibility (Matthew 11:28–30).

“Come to Me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”

➡️ Overwhelm often signals the need for support, not failure.

9

Do you take insurance or accept HSA/FSA payments?

Lionheart ADHD Coaching is private-pay and does not accept insurance or HSA/FSA accounts.

This allows coaching to remain personalized, faith-integrated, and free from diagnostic or treatment constraints. Coaching focuses on formation and stewardship, not medical care.

“Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion.” — 2 Corinthians 9:7

➡️ A discovery call can help discern whether this is a wise investment for your season.

10

What happens on a discovery call?

A discovery call is a no-pressure conversation focused on discernment.

We will:

  • Clarify your challenges and goals

  • Discuss what coaching would and would not involve

  • Assess fit on both sides

  • Answer practical questions

There is no obligation to continue.

“The simple believes everything, but the prudent gives thought to his steps.” — Proverbs 14:15

➡️ If coaching is not the right fit, I will tell you honestly.
